There was a time that the Oscars or The Academy Awards were dominated by white people but with increasing inclusivity in the Hollywood, we have seen many other people of colour getting recognized for their talent and there are now projects and artists who get awarded at the ceremony every year from different ethnicities. Pakistani content is also getting a lot of appreciation this year after the film Joyland got awarded at the Cannes Film Festival and has since won several awards at different shows.
This year Priyanka Chopra hosted a party for all the Asian nominees and people who made to the Oscars shortlist and we saw many Pakistani celebrities at the celebration. The team of Joyland including Alina Khan, Saim Sadiq, Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy as well as Pasoori star Ali Sethi were also spotted at the pre-Oscars party.
