Pakistani dramas have been stuck in a rut of the same saas-bahu masala and sister rivalries with our leading ladies lacking the basic backbone and not moving forward in life. But there are some stories that have broken the mould and brought something different to the television screens. One such drama is Pinjra written by the late Asma Nabeel and directed by Najaf Bilgrami. The drama focused on the issues regarding parenting and helped people think outside of the box.
The drama had a big cast including Hadiqa Kiani, Omair Rana, Sunita Marshall, Ashir Wajahat, Aina Asif, Ahmed Usman and others. It touched upon some very sensitive topics and managed to start conversations including drugs in school children, the criminal justice system we have for minors as well as parenting and how it moulds a child’s character. The drama finally ended last night and Hadiqa Kiani shared some beautiful BTS pictures from the sets of their drama:
